Iran: Execution of Ten Prisoners, Including Five Youths, in Two Days

High school student, 21-year-old woman sentenced to death
Coinciding with the 64th United Nations resolution condemning human rights violations in Iran, the mullahs’ regime hanged at least ten prisoners on December 19th and 20th. Seven of these individuals were mass executed in Gohardasht Prison of Karaj, west of Tehran.At least five of those hanged were youths. Three youths, two of which were 21 years of age, were executed in Gohardasht Prison on December 19th for “armed robbery from supermarkets.” On the same day a 24-year-old youth from Iran’s Baluchistan was hanged in Zahedan Central Prison, southeast Iran, after enduring five years behind bars. The day before that another young individual was hanged in Zanjan Central Prison, northwest Iran, after enduring six years in prison.
In the meantime, the mullahs’ Supreme Court in yet another criminal act upheld a death sentence issued for a high-school student. He was only 15 at the time of his alleged crime and has been held behind bars for three years now. Three days prior to this case a 21-year-old woman, being the mother of a four-year-old child, was also sentenced to death.
The mullahs’ regime is hanging Iranian youth for theft while huge cases of corruption and embezzlement involving senior Iranian figures are revealed day after day as a result of internal political feuds. This has become a major embarrassment for the regime, resulting in major rifts in senior ranks and fueling the society’s powder keg status quo. Protest acts are spreading and the Iranian population’s abhorrence is spreading significantly.
The Iranian Resistance calls on people from all walks of life in Iran, especially the brave youth, to protest such vicious death sentences, and for international human rights organizations to take urgent and effective action in the face of such killings of prisoners, especially the youth.
