The unknowns about systematic car smuggling in Iran ARTICLES 6/16/2018 The number of illegally imported vehicles into Iran stands at over 15,000 units Analysis by PMOI/MEK Iran, June 16, 2018 - In May the deputy of Iran’s Car Importers Association said the number of illegally imported vehicles into Iran stands at over 15,000 units. This is according to the state-run ISNA news agency. On the other hand, head of Iran’s Trade Development Organization had previously said in 2017 alone 6,400 vehicles were imported after all registration periods were officially ended. Iran’s own Sharq daily posted a piece on the disturbing issue of illegal vehicles smuggled into the country. Citing the chairman of the Iranian regime’s parliamentary Industry Commission, the piece specifically targets the cabinet of President Hassan Rouhani for illegally importing 6,000 vehicles. Iran: Protesters Clash With State Security Forces Over Soaring Cost of Living28 December 2017 Iran Focus London, 28 Dec - Today, anti-government protests broke out across Iran, including in Mashhad, the second largest city, and one of the holiest places in Shia Islam. The protesters clashed with state security forces over the soaring cost of living. In Mashhad, around 10.000 people joined together in major protests.
