Iran's justice minister, Alireza Avaie’s travel to Geneva, planned for next week, to address the United Nation's top human rights body, triggered the critics of the human rights activists and the victims of the violation of human rights in Iran.

This trip is scheduled despite the European Union has already designated and sanctioned this man, Alireza Avaie, for being directly involved in violations of human rights in Iran. The EU sanctions bar Avaie from travel to the EU and freeze any assets he might hold in the bloc.

As Tehran's former top prosecutor Avaie was responsible for human rights violations, arbitrary arrests, denials of prisoners' rights and an increase in executions.

Alireza Avaie along with some 100 government ministers and other dignitaries from around the world due to address the opening of the United Nations Human Rights Council's main annual session.

According to exiled members of the Iranian opposition, Avaie is one of the perpetrators of the 1988 mass execution of political prisoners in Iran during which 30,000 prisoners were executed in a few months. Avaie was the perpetrator of the massacre in Khuzestan Province, city of Dezful, UNESCO prison.

As Amnesty International has said a quarter of a century after the mass killing, the Iranian authorities do not want to talk about what happened.

"Allowing Avaie to address the Human Rights Council is disgraceful and would make a mockery of the United Nations and its human rights mechanisms," Shahin Gobadi, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the opposition group which includes People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI or MKO), said, "This must not happen," he told AFP, also insisting that as the current justice minister of Iran, Avaie "bears responsibility for the brutal suppression of recent protests" in the country. The majority of the massacred political prisoners in 1988, were supporters of the PMOI.

The way the international community approaches the crime against humanity is a litmus test of the adherence to the principles of human rights and portraits their commitment to their duties.

The UN Human Rights bodies have to persuade the UN Security Council to launch an international commission of inquiry to investigate the 1988 mass execution of political prisoners in Iran. And the UN Security Council is expected to refer the dossier of the massacre of the political prisoners in 1988 to the International Criminal Court or a special court to prosecute the perpetrators against humanity, like Alireza Avaie and his predecessor, Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi the former Rohani’s Justice Minster.

A protest is organized in front of the UN headquarters in Geneva next Tuesday where Avaie is due to speak.

Iran-Back Hezbollah Controls LebanonTerrorism

Iran-Back Hezbollah Controls LebanonTerrorism 21 February 2018 Iran Focus London, 21 Feb - In recent years, when the US has made statements against Iran-backed Hezbollah, they have often followed this up with support for the Lebanese army and security forces, but it is becoming increasingly clear that there is little, if any, distinction between the Lebanese state and the Iran-backed terrorist group. When US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson arrived in Beirut, last Thursday, Hezbollah had created two new problems with Israel: a southern border wall and the debates over oil and gas extraction. This caused Tillerson to make the US position on Hezbollah very clear. Hezbollah is a terrorist organisation with no difference between its military and political wings. He advised that Hezbollah and Iran were creating tensions in the region in order to destabilise the Middle East. Iran seeks the destruction to distract others from its own problems, both domestic and international. It not only ta...
Iran-Backed Hezbollah Accuses Saudi Arabia of Arresting Lebanon Prime Minister10 November 2017 Iran Focus London, 10 Nov - The Secretary-General of the Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorist group is blaming Saudi Arabia for the shock resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri this weekend with no actual evidence to back up his claims. Hassan Nasrallah claimed that Hariri has been arrested in Riyadh, even claiming to be seriously worried about Hariri’s safety and calling upon Saudi Arabia to “give us back our prime minister”. This is, of course, designed to detract attention from the reasons that Hariri actually gave for his resignation in a speech on Saturday from Saudi Arabia. Hariri said that he feared that the Iranian Regime and Hezbollah were going to assassinate him, as they did to his father in 2005, when under the orders of Mustafa Badr al-Din.
