انتقد وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ريكس تيلرسون، الاتفاق النووي مع إيران، قائلا إن الولايات المتحدة لديها “مسائل مهمة” تتعلق بهذه الصفقة.
وقال تيلرسون للصحفيين في الأمم المتحدة إن “الأطراف التي تفاوضت على الاتفاق كان لها توقع واضح بأن إحدى فوائد الاتفاق ستكون التخلص من تهديدات خطيرة للمنطقة”.
لكنه أكد أن إيران “تواصل دعم النظام السوري، والانخراط في النشاط الإلكتروني الخبيث، وتطوير الصواريخ الباليستية التي تهدد استقرار المنطقة وإرسال الأسلحة إلى اليمن وسوريا والعراق”.
وكان تيلرسون التقى نظيره الإيراني محمد جواد ظريف، خلال اجتماع في مقر الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك شارك فيه أيضًا ممثلو بقية أطراف الاتفاق النووي الإيراني.
وهذا أول لقاء على الإطلاق بين الرجلين منذ تسلم دونالد ترامب مفاتيح البيت الأبيض في كانون الثاني/ يناير الماضي.
وناقش الوزيران مع ممثلي الأطراف الخمسة الأخرى الموقعة على الاتفاق المبرم في فيينا عام 2015 (روسيا والصين وفرنسا وألمانيا والاتحاد الأوروبي) مستقبل هذه الوثيقة التي يريد ترامب على ما يبدو تعديلها تحت طائلة الانسحاب منها.
من جانب آخر، قال الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، إنه “لم يفقد الأمل بعد في إقناع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب بتغيير رأيه في الاتفاق النووي بين إيران والقوى العالمية”.
لكن ماكرون أقر بأن الاتفاق “ليس كافيًا، قائلًا: “هل يكفي الاتفاق؟ لا ليس كافيًا في ضوء تطور الوضع الإقليمي وتنامي الضغوط التي تمارسها إيران على المنطقة وفي ضوء زيادة النشاط الإيراني على المستوى الباليستي منذ الاتفاق”.
بدورها، قالت مسؤولة السياسة الخارجية في الاتحاد الأوروبي فيدريكا موغيريني، إن “كل أطراف الاتفاق النووي التاريخي بين إيران والقوى العالمية، ملتزمة به”.
وأضافت موغيريني في الأمم المتحدة بعد اجتماع للأطراف الموقعة على الاتفاق، أنه “ينبغي التعامل مع أي قضية خارج إطار الاتفاق النووي في محفل مختلف”.
وأشارت إلى أن “الولايات المتحدة التي شككت في قيمة الاتفاق وافقت على أن إيران ملتزمة تمامًا به”.
